Dear Fellow LATA Members & Guests:

The St. James Parish Sales Tax Department and the Ascension Parish Sales Tax Authority are proud to co-host the 2nd quarter LATA meeting on June 11, 12, & 13, 2008 in Gonzales, LA. The conference will be held at the Holiday Inn located on Hwy 30, near the Tanger Mall/Cabela’s exit #177 off I-10.

The hotel has set a room rate of $95.00 for the conference and will hold the room block until May 9, 2008. Please make sure to register early, as this is a busy hotel. Hotel reservations may be made by calling (800) 946-5432. To be included in the block, use the group name "LATA" and reserve your room by May 9, 2008.

The Holiday Inn is the home of a Mike Anderson’s Restaurant, which has a reputation of serving excellent meals. Wednesday night we plan to have an indoor barbeque buffet. Then on Thursday night, we will have a seafood sit-down dinner followed by a comedian for our entertainment.

The conference early registration fee for members is $175.00 and $200 for non-members. A late fee of $25 will be added to registrations after May 9, 2008. So please register early. Registrations should be sent to P.O. Box 1718 Gonzales, LA 70737 for processing.

The Golf tournament will be held at Pelican Point in Gonzales on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 10^{th. The golf registration fee is $65, which includes green fees, range balls, cart rental, box lunch, etc. Anyone wishing to volunteer their services or make a contribution towards the golf tournament should contact Marty Martin with Southwest Computer Bureau at 225-647-5375.}

As soon as we have finalized the agenda, we will post it onto the LATA website. However, at a minimum, the agenda will include a legislative update and I know we all are looking forward discussing what our legislature has done for us.
