Committee Responsibilities:
With the passage of the Uniform Tax Code in 2003, the legislature mandated an electronic method of filing sales tax reports & remittances by any business to any local sales tax collector in Louisiana. (See LRS 47:337.23) The statute also creates an advisory committee to oversee the project with one of the advisory committee members being appointed by the governor from three candidates selected by the LATA. This committee was created to work with & advise the LATA's Advisory Committee member.

Current Committee Activities & Goals:
The Uniform Return & Remittance Committee is developing a "check list" for any local administrator to use when the parish experiences a rate change. In addition, the committee is monitoring the URRAC for ParishE-File on behalf of the LATA.
